I had a blue item drop that had no mods once identified. Is this something that happens often? or just a bug?

I regret not taking a screen shot.

It happens. I remember IDing a gold Req 8 Katana just to get a Fiery mod. While it technically *is* modded, it was a much bigger slap in the face than getting nothing.

fiery dragon swords, even with no mods, never drop white. This is because they have an inherent fiery mod, but it cannot be salvaged. Same with fiery/icey bladed axes.

Happened me found 7-20 Blue axe with no dmg mod (Yeah low dmg axe can have 7 minimun dmg)

Because the Firey Dragon Sword has an inherent Firey Sword Hilt attached to it, it always drops in at least a Blue color, whether it has additional mods or not.

Well, Tyrian and Factions Wands can be like that.
Most of them suck quite a lot... and the rest suck even more.
Most of the time I just get a +4E^50HP on them, and that with luck.

But blue with no mods I've only seen things like Fiery Dragon Swords, Fiery Gladii, Fiery/Icy Blade Axes...
Well... I've seen the Blade axe once in the Nightfall preview, but since them I've never seen them blue again. Maybe they changed them like the Icy Dragon Sword.

Found a gold sword this morning that had an removable 15^50 mod on it. Shame the other mod on it was +33% poison length.

Blue weapon with no mods is not possible.

While weapons with Gold or Purple names with completely no mods of any kind are not rare at all, blue ones are theoretically impossible.

Blues are treated by the game exactly just as Whites, any White becomes a Blue after putting a mod on it.

"clean" Fiery Dragon Swords are always blue simply because of their Fiery mod that just can't be removed.

EDIT: To clarify, a Blue item with no mods at all is possible if it has an empty inscription slot, but that's essentially like a mod, it's an extra property, that makes the item blue.

yep gotten purps with no mods also....not sure about golds....

last weekend while depopulating raptors in HM, I got a max gold that had no inscription (no inscription slot). I've heard other accounts of the same.

Sometimes mods are just strange in them not showing up once in a while.

I am pretty sure that I have had a few golds with no mods on them. Makes me want to punch a hole in my computer monitor.
